Matthew Rybicki Music


Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Matthew Rybicki has performed with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Wycliffe Gordon, Norah Jones, Nnenna Freelon, Renee Fleming, Terell Stafford, Winard Harper, Mark Whitfield, Marc Cary, Carl Allen, and Victor Goines.

He is currently performing and teaching privately, and is an artist/instructor for Jazz at Lincoln Center where he designed and taught the inaugural bass course in the Essentially Ellington Band Director Academy. He was also the Music Director for the fall 2005 and spring 2007 “Jazz in the Schools Tour.”

Additionally, Mr. Rybicki has led musical workshops at The Whitney Museum of American Art as part of the museum’s 2004 Romare Bearden exhibition, and again in 2005 for “An American Birthday Adventure.”

Mr. Rybicki appears regularly in the New York area as a band leader and sideman, and is a substitute bassist in “The Radio City Christmas Spectacular” at Radio City Music Hall and “The Lion King” on Broadway. He received his Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music in 1995 and his Artist Diploma from The Juilliard School in 2004.
